It has been confirmed that next years ride (2013) will be from London to Newcastle. The riders will leave London on Monday 9th September and arrive in Newcastle on Friday 13th September to a homecoming black tie celebration to be held at The Village Hotel, Silverlink, Newcastle.

The route for 2013 will be over 380 miles in length, travelling along some of the quieter roads from London to Newcastle. Day one of the ride will take the group from The Angel Islington in London to Northampton. The route for day two will be from Northampton to Nottingham. Day three sees the riders go from Nottingham to Leeds (the hilly way!) with the next section of the challenge from Leeds to Scotch Corner. The final day will bring the group home to the Angel of The North.

Prior to the bike ride some of the group will be completing a 1 mile swim on Sunday 8th September, in the Serpentine Lake, Hyde Park, London and after the bike ride, on Sunday 15th September, some will also be participating in the biggest half marathon in the world, namely the Great North Run. This creates a Triathlon, Duathlon or a bike ride for the people involved, all in the space of 7 days.... it will be a true test of stamina and will power for all.

Instead of nominating just one main charity for the ride, individual riders have nominated charities of their choice. The majority will be raising funds for Help for Heroes along with Ready For Home, The Brain Tumour Trust, Prostate Cancer U.K., Claire House Childrens Hospice Liverpool and Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice Sheffield. I am sure all that read this will agree that these are very worthy charities.
